Oriental Land Co., Ltd. — the owners and operators of Tokyo Disney Resort — are establishing Disney Cruise Line Japan. The company will launch their own Disney Cruise Line ship in 2029.
Disney Cruise Line Japan

Oriental Land Co. announced that their Board of Directors had decided to establish the subsidiary Oriental Land Cruise Co., which will operate under the name Disney Cruise Line Japan. The subsidiary is tentatively scheduled to be officially established on April 3.
The subsidiary will “accelerate the commercialization of its cruise business” and “manage and operate its future cruise ships in a specialized and agile manner.”
Tokyo Disney Resort executive Ryotaro Shiiba is named as the Representative Director, President. The listed capital is ¥450 million (approximately $2.8 million).
The ship will be part of the Wish-class, meaning it will be the same approximate shape and size as the Disney Wish and her sister ships. Oriental Land Co. is “currently coordinating their detailed design, onboard content, and styling, among other elements, in collaboration with Disney Enterprises, Inc., based on Disney Wish, an existing Disney Cruise Line ship, to meet Japanese registry specifications.”
Construction will commence in the second half of Japanese fiscal year 2026. Cruise services will launch in Japanese fiscal year 2028 — which will be from April 1, 2028, to March 31, 2029. As they’ve already announced the ship will launch in 2029, this means it’s expected to launch early in the year.
Disney and OLC announced the Japanese cruise ship two years ago. They have already teased a potential second ship. OLC entered an agreement with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha and Yusen Cruises Co., Ltd. to help them operate the ship.
