Construction around the new Coco attraction coming to Disney California Adventure continues, with the perimeter wood fencing now extended farther.

From our vantage point, we could see the ongoing construction progress for the area surrounding the new Coco attraction. Construction of this area began in January 2026.

The wood perimeter fence has extended since our last report on February 26, 2026. The fence extends farther into the foliage, but hasn't quite reached the end of the street yet. It parallels the backstage road leading off Disneyland Drive. This road may eventually be demolished as part of the ride’s construction.

The start of the plant removal appears to be unchanged, as are the temporary construction buildings. There are extra slats of wood laying by the gate entrance, likely to be used for extending the perimeter fence.

This fence will be completed before the construction of the Coco attraction begins.

New ‘Coco’ Attraction

Disney hasn’t announced much about the new Coco attraction. What we know so far is that guests will follow Miguel into the Land of the Dead, hear some of the movie’s iconic music, and see skeletal Audio-Animatronic characters. The concept art indicates that it will be a boat ride.
