Police responded to false mass shooting and bomb threats at Disneyland on March 11, the result of swatting calls made toward livestreamers.
Swatting Call Brings Police to Disneyland Park
“Swatting” is the illegal act of making a false emergency call for the sole purpose of drawing a response from law enforcement, including SWAT, and has become a social media pranking trend.
That hit Disneyland on Wednesday, March 11, when the Anaheim Police Department responded to a call reporting “a possible mass shooting and bomb threats” at Disneyland Park at around 9:45 p.m. At least a dozen police vehicles, including K-9 units, were seen staging and securing areas around the park, including around the guest trams and the monorail.

Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter told 10 News San Diego that “the threat was not credible and the response was complete within 45 minutes.” The park was not evacuated during the incident.
The hoax Disneyland call was one of three swatting calls made that same night that prompted large police responses across Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The calls have been connected to social media influencers, some of whom were streaming live at the time, but nobody has been identified, and it’s unclear if charges will be filed.
Livestreamer Oblivion was seen speaking with police in the park, but whether he is connected to the incident is unknown. According to the streamer, “It’s just a random internet guy that just swatted us.”
