Among the unique stateroom styles on Disney Cruise Line’s brand new Disney Adventure is the “Reef View” category. Guests in these rooms have a view of the open-air Disney Discovery Reef at the back of the ship. We booked this room type specifically because of it’s very unique room type.
Disney Discovery Reef is inspired by The Little Mermaid, Finding Nemo, Lilo & Stitch, and Luca with themed shopping and dining, giant coral reef structures, and glass canopies. Appropriately, our Deluxe Reef View Stateroom featured The Little Mermaid artwork.

We were on the port side of the ship. The room number medallion has an art deco sund esign. The placard to the side features a half-Mickey icon and the Braille number.

Next to the stateroom door are the split bathrooms and a full-length mirror.

In one bathroom is a single-sink vanity, with shelf space on either side, and a very spacious shower for a cruise ship. It has simple beige tile flooring and white faux marble walls. The towels feature the Disney Cruise Line logo. Inside the shower are mounted shampoo, body wash, and conditioner bottles.

The other bathroom has a second sink and the toilet. Note that the built-in shelves have small railings to prevent items from sliding off when in rough waters.

Across from the bathrooms is the closet and coffee station. There’s a thin closet behind a door housing cubbies. The open closet has two rods with hangers.

At the coffee station is a Bacha Coffee tea kettle, two mugs, coffee, sugar, creamer, and stirrers. Teas included chamomile, English Breakfast, and Moroccan mint.

A shelf above holds four glasses, each topped by a Disney Cruise Line-branded paper cover.

Below the coffee station is a very spacious drawer safe, which we love. Instructions for locking and unlocking it are on the front.

Below the safe is a mini fridge and a small storage drawer.

Guests can purchase decoration packages. We got Duffy and Friends decorations, which included porthole-inspired dangling decor featuring the characters StellaLou, TippyBlue and Duffy. On the bed, there were Duffy pillowcases and a StellaLou coin purse. The ship features a Duffy and Friends show and shop.

The pillowcases have Duffy and Friends in their Friend-ship and the Disney Adventure wordmark.

The room’s carpeting is green and brown with a geometric pattern. The bed linens are white with subtle patterns.

A beige bed runner features the Disney Cruise Line logo, Adventure wordmark, and stars.

The standard pillowcases are white with filigree borders featuring hidden Mickeys. Above the bed in our Little Mermaid room was a mural of King Triton’s palace under the sea. There is a padded headboard below the mural.

To either side of the bed is a small open end table for storage. Above each end table are plugs and light controls, which include USB and USB-C and the three-prong outlet.

There’s a curtain in the center of the room. This can be used to create more privacy if multiple guests are sleeping in the room.

The sea green sofa can be converted into a bed, but staff has to do it for you. The pull-out bed is one mattress; however, it is distinctly made for two people with two seperate sets of bedding.

Hanging above the sofa is a sketch of Ariel in a gold frame.

Across from the sofa is a desk with three drawers housing the hair dryer. There are built-in USB, USB-C, three-prong, and two-prong outlets. An additional small table tucked under the desk can be folded open to give more counter or table space, a first for Disney Cruise line.
Above the desk is the TV. Tucked below is the trash can and a green padded stool.

A light-up panel is on the ceiling above the sofa. The verandah overlooking the open air Discovery Reef is accessible through sliding glass doors. This verandah looks inside of the ship, a first for Disney Cruise Line. In front of the doors is a sheer white curtain and a light-blocking ocean-inspired curtain.

On the verandah are two deck chairs and a small table. The railing is covered in Plexiglass so guests can easily see the entire reef.

At night, the reef is transformed with bioluminescent-inspired lighting and we thought it a cool spot to hang out.
We thought the size of the stateroom was nice and comfy for the two of us who stayed in it but even if you had three or four in your group, you would be ok. Storage with more than two guests could be an issue but storage is generally a problem with cruising.
