Bluey’s mother takes the spotlight in a few new table covers during the “Bluey’s Best Day Ever” festivities at Disneyland Park.
The Heeler Family Comes to Disneyland

In recent months, Disneyland cast members have been hard at work preparing the park for the arrival of Bluey and her family in the form of the new “Bluey’s Best Day Ever” stage show. The show has officially debuted this week and taken over the Fantasyland Theatre and the area immediately around it, including the quick-service food kiosk, Troubadour Tavern.
The Tavern has a brand new menu with several Bluey-themed items on offer. Subtle theming has been added to the area: the tables available to guests around the Tavern have been wrapped in two colorful graphics featuring Bluey characters. The star of these graphics is Chilli, Bluey’s mother.

The first graphic, seen above and shown with a pink trim around the table’s edges, features Chilli, Bluey, and Bingo sitting together on a bench at a playground. Text over the top of the graphic reads “From then on I decided to run my own race” (keep scrolling for more context behind this scene).
In the second design, shown below, we see Chilli sitting in the Heeler home’s backyard alongside her pink poodle friend and fellow mother, Bella. In this scene, Bella is offering a comforting hand to Chilli – looking a little emotional – with the text below the two reading “You’re doing great”.

Both graphics appear to be taken directly from the show, specifically season 2 episode 50, “Baby Race.” In this episode, Chilli tells Bluey and Bingo (Bluey’s younger sister) about Bluey’s infant years, when she learned how to sit up, crawl, and eventually walk.
Chilli becomes increasingly anxious during this time because she starts comparing Bluey’s progress to other babies in her mothers peer group. There’s a sense of competition she feels, hoping that Bluey will learn how to walk sooner than another quick-learning infant in the group – a “baby race,” as the episode is titled. Ultimately, that baby learns to walk before Bluey.
Chilli’s worries compound into a full melancholy, thinking that she is doing something wrong when Bluey does not keep up with the progress of other babies.

One day, another mother in her group, Bella, visits Chilli and reveals that she has 8 other kids in addition to her youngest. Chilli remarks, “You must have learned a thing or two,” in terms of maternal experience.
In response, Bella affirms, “I have, and there’s something you need to know: You’re doing great.”
It was “from then on, (Chilli) decided to run (her) own race”.
In the end, Bluey takes her first steps by walking toward Chilli at home, and the story becomes less about winning a “race” and more about children and mothers both growing in their own time.
This emotional moment is a clever inclusion by designers on the Bluey experiences at Disney Parks. Fans of the show are likely to recognize this powerful moment from the series – and mothers of young Bluey fans in particular are sure to appreciate this nod to Chilli and her experience as they take a seat at Troubadour Tavern, perhaps echoing their own family dynamics.

‘Bluey’s Best Day Ever!’ at Disneyland Resort

Exclusive to Disneyland, “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” is a live stage show at the Fantasyland Theatre that debuted just this past week as a new park offering introduced during the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration.
The show centers on Bluey and Bingo appearing onstage in short rotating musical moments throughout the day, alongside performers and musicians who host interactive games, dances, and music inspired by the animated series.
Bluey, the original show, is an Australian animated preschool series created by Joe Brumm and internationally distributed by Disney. The series follows Bluey, a young Blue Heeler dog, and her family — particularly her sister Bingo — as ordinary home life turns into imaginative play-based adventures.
The series premiered in 2018 and has over-time become massively popular for its short episodes, family-centered storytelling, and appeal to both children and adults.
