3 Best and Worst Lightning Lanes at Animal Kingdom

With the fewest possible Lightning Lane options, there isn’t a lot to choose from at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Even so, there are some things to consider when you’re deciding which Lightning Lanes to choose at this park. Here are the best and worst Lightning Lane options.

Single Pass

The Lightning Lane Single Pass is completely separate from the Multi Pass, and it lets you purchase access to one specific attraction.

The Lightning Lane Single Pass is completely separate from the Multi Pass, and it lets you purchase access to one specific attraction.

At Animal Kingdom, there is only one attraction available as a single Lightning Lane pass: Avatar Flight of Passage. This attraction is not available as one of your three choices on a Multi Pass.

Multi Pass

Unlike the Single Pass, the Multi Pass allows you to choose up to three attractions in advance with specific arrival windows. You can also make extra selections throughout the day after your first three are complete.

Unlike the Single Pass, the Multi Pass allows you to choose up to three attractions in advance with specific arrival windows. After using your first Multi Pass experience, you may be able to choose an additional experience (subject to availability).

At Animal Kingdom, the following attractions are redeemable through the Multi Pass:

Premier Pass

Beyond Multi Pass, you also have the option to use Premier Pass at Animal Kingdom. Once you’ve purchased the pass for your chosen park and date, you can enter the Lightning Lane entrances one time for each participating attraction (the same as the Multi Pass, plus the Single Pass) at any time during the day. There’s no need to book return times or manage ride reservations. Simply tap in at the Lightning Lane entrance and enjoy the ride.

Even though Animal Kingdom has fewer attractions than the other parks, guests may still encounter hefty wait times. With that in mind, these are the best uses of your Multi Pass options:

  • Na’vi River Journey
    • Average wait time: 52 minutes

  • Expedition Everest

3 Worst Lightning Lanes

Generally, the worst Lightning Lane choices (when you have to choose) are shows that happen throughout the day. That’s because they can often seat everyone in the standby line, and you’ll be wasting the opportunity to use the Lightning Lane on something else.

In the case of Animal Kingdom, those choices would be:

  • Festival of the Lion King
  • Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!
  • Feathered Friends in Flight

Technically, Better Zoogether is a show too, but since we’re only doing the worst three options, we’ve chosen to leave this off. Plus, it’s still pretty new compared to the other three shows at the park.
