The water tower that previously sat on Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano has been removed from Disney’s Hollywood Studios as the area is turned into Monstropolis.

The water tower was on this corner of Mama Melrose’s brick facade. The restaurant will be transformed into Harryhausen’s from Monsters, Inc. with a completely different exterior including giant chopsticks holding an eyeball.

Another water tower near Mama Melrose’s was removed last week.
Two water towers remain. The one on Gonzo’s Royal Flush (the land’s bathrooms) will remain but be re-themed. It’s currently surrounded by scaffolding for work.
A water tower at the far end of PizzeRizzo is just barely visible, but we can still see its rooftop. According to Monstropolis concept art (at the bottom of this article), this tower will also be removed and another tower will go up in a different spot.
Exterior brickwork was stripped from the side of Gonzo’s Royal Flush. White paneling and steel framing are now visible behind scaffolding.
Crews also continue to prepare the MuppetVision 3D theater for its new marquee and decorations. As seen in concept art, the theater will become The Glob.
Crews have started installing supports for the Monsters, Inc. door coaster at the far end of the land.
