Another construction wall has been erected along the Frontierland boardwalk in Magic Kingdom, near Big Al’s, which will soon be demolished. The work is related to construction of the new Cars-inspired Piston Peak National Park area.

The new wall runs in front of a fenced-off flowerbed across from Frontier Trading Post.

Access to the boardwalk remains open, although it’s now almost completely surrounded by walls and scrim. The boardwalk is expected to remain as part of the new area, although it may be refurbished as part of construction.

Big Al’s is still intact, as are nearby props and a tip board.

After permits were filed for Frontierland kiosks, sources told us that Big Al’s — one of the last remaining original ticket booths in Magic Kingdom — and the Westward Ho food kiosk would both permanently close.

In the Piston Peak construction zone, some wood framing was removed from the retaining wall, which crews have been pouring concrete into.

Near Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, we saw a few large white pipes staged.
