Construction of Porto’s Bakery & Cafe at Downtown Disney District was sending dust clouds into the air on Tuesday.
Porto’s Bakery Construction
An excavator was working at one end of the construction site. We previously saw a large pile of rubble in this area. The excavator was likely moving the rubble or tearing up old pavement.
We already know much of the site’s pavement was demolished. Near the center of the construction zone is a large pile of dirt. The dirt will be eventually removed from the site and/or flattened.
Another excavator was parked near World of Disney.
Porto’s Bakery & Cafe
La Brea Bakery closed permanently in 2023 after Porto’s Bakery & Cafe was announced in 2022. The La Brea building was used as a temporary Earl of Sandwich for over two years amid delays. The temporary Earl of Sandwich finally closed in 2025. The building and two nearby ticket booths were demolished. A new Earl of Sandwich is under construction on the other side of Downtown Disney District.
