Gramma Tala’s Kitchen is one of several quick-service restaurants available aboard the Disney Adventure. Take a tour of the space, with a look at the overall design, seating area, and the food.
Gramma Tala’s Kitchen
Let the spirit of discovery guide you to Gramma Tala’s Kitchen—a warm, inviting eatery inspired by the scenery and island flair that enriches the beloved Disney film Moana.
Discover an imaginative menu featuring diverse flavors from the Pacific region and Asia while surrounded by vibrant South Pacific-style décor, art and backgrounds based on the movie.
Gramma Tala’s Kitchen is located on Deck 10 Midship near other quick-service restaurants like Mowgli’s Eatery, Bewitching Boba & Brews, and Stitch’s ‘Ohana Grill. During the maiden voyage, guests were required to book their return time for eating at the quick-service restaurants via the DCL Navigator app. They stopped doing it during subsequent sailings, but this process could return at any time.
Entrance and Interior

The entrance of Gramma Tala’s Kitchen greets you with a large wooden arch. It has a woven sign, Island Pacific-esque lanterns, and rope wrapped around the wood. Large potted plants flank the entrance of the quick-service restaurant.
On either side of the entrance, Moana-themed murals show Hei Hei and Pua standing in a lush garden near the ocean. Palm trees float in the window while mountains tower in the back.

There are some tables “outside” with more mural scenes and flowers surrounding the space. Along the top are two runners—one is teal with gold design elements, which blend in with the rest of Imagination Garden, and the other is a dark navy with tan tribal designs surrounding the images of Hei Hei and Pua.

Inside, there is a small serving station where crew members serve up the food to guests. Behind the food area is a large mural featuring an ocean scene. Dark blue paneling and patterned wallpaper line the walls.
The flooring alternates between a dark blue tile and herringbone pattern vinyl plank flooring. The tiled ceiling above is a light brown with white floral designs, and the overhead lights are large drum-like mounts with more tribal designs.
Seating Area

The seating area is a combination of about 20 two- and four- top tables. The flooring in here is mainly the herringbone vinyl plank, but there are strips of the blue tiles. In the back is a large mural scene of Maui and Moana on their boat in the ocean. Blue and teal chevron tile flank the mural on either side. Along the other wall are a variety of portraits and nods to the movie.
Menu and Review

Gramma Tala’s Kitchen serves a menu of Hainanese Chicken, Huli-Huli BBQ Chicken, Buttermilk Fried Chicken, Black Pepper Beef, Sichuan-Braised Tofu, Fragrant Chicken Rice, Coconut Rice, Stir-fried Chinese Broccoli, Macaroni Salad, Pickled Radish Kimchi, and Soy-glazed Yams. It has all the items needed to create your own bowl or platter.

Condiments sauces include Sweet Dark Soy Sauce, Ketchup, Honey Hot Sauce, and Mustard. There are no drink stations in here, so you’ll want to bring your own drinks from outside.

The food comes on on themed platters, bowls, and plates.
The Buttermilk Fried Chicken is boneless, and we thought the white meat was tender and juicy with a crispy skin. We highly recommend it, and paired with the Curry Sauce it had a nice kick to it.

The Broccoli was perfectly cooked with a nice crunch, and there was plenty of garlic for a unique taste. We also really enjoyed the Coconut Rice, but the Beef was a bit chewy although the flavor was good.
The Hainanese Chicken is basically Fried Chicken but without being fried. It’s tender and juicy white chicken, which is a healthy option. Lastly, we loved the Huli-Huli BBQ Chicken. It was sweet and tangy with a bit of spice. It’s honestly life changing! It’s such a good base for the entire meal.
The first piece of Tofu was very tough, but the sauce was really good. The breading was hard—almost like it was microwaved. However, the second piece we tried was much easier to cut. Perhaps the first piece sat under the lamps for too long.

Overall, at this point in our cruise, we would skip the rotational dining and enjoy the quick-service aboard instead. It is much better than what we experienced at the rotational locations.
