No Earth Day 2026 Meet and Greets at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

After reducing Earth Day meet and greets in 2025, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has cut them entirely in 2026.

In previous years, limited-time character meet and greets have been available for the full week of Earth Day (April 22). These have included Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, and Rabbit; Goofy and Max; King Louie and Baloo; and Tinker Bell and Fawn. Last year, the fairies were the only special meet and greet, and they only appeared for a few days instead of a week.

We spoke to multiple character attendants at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and all confirmed there are no special meet and greets this Earth Day. We also checked some of the existing meet and greets and no characters have special outfits or accessories.

The stilt-walking DiVine character, however, has traded her green leaves for spring flowers. Guests can find DiVine among the foliage near the park’s entrance.

Talking Dug resumed appearances today but he will continue appearing after Earth Day.

We also spotted a few characters, Terk from Tarzan and Thumper from Bambi, outside the entrance of the park. These are not advertised as Earth Day characters but “Surprise and Delight” meet and greet opportunities.

The park is offering Earth Month photo ops without characters.

Earth Day is the anniversary of the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The park has been operating since 1998, making 2026 its 28th birthday.
