Savi’s Workshop Construction Finally Complete

Though the walls and scrim went up seven months ago, there was no visible work in the area until support poles went up in February. Crews then added canopies in the past week. This addition of canopies appears to be the only real change to the courtyard.

A flowerbed in front of the courtyard, where walls and scrim were, is currently lacking plants. Fresh landscaping may be added later.

The canopies are similar to other shades and canopies in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. They are relatively small and thin so don’t provide complete coverage, but give a little bit of protection to guests waiting to build a lightsaber.

The lightsaber experience has remained open during the construction. Before the shades were installed, temporary umbrellas were often used in the courtyard to protect guests from sun and rain.

There are still some “themed” umbrellas at one end of the courtyard.

It’s possible construction also included pavement work, but there are no visible changes.

The shades all hang from a central post, connecting to smaller posts around the edge of the courtyard. The arrangement is similar to a structure in the Black Spire Outpost Market.

In the courtyard, flowerbeds are filled with decorative scrap metal. One bed is also lacking plants for the time-being.

Check out how the courtyard looked before construction in our live-streamed video of the lightsaber experience below.
