Universal Studios Hollywood is getting ready for Universal Fan Fest Nights starting in just a few weeks. The after hours event features experiences inspired by ONE PIECE, Harry Potter, and more. Decorations and other signs of prep work have gone up throughout the park.
Universal Fan Fest Nights Decorations
CityWalk

Production Central in CityWalk is decorated with Scooby-Doo and Universal Monsters decals. The characters will appear side by side on a new backlot experience during Fan Fest Nights.

The Universal Studios Store has wraps representing different fandoms and experiences on its marquee supports. Other fandoms are pictured on decals across the windows.
Universal Studios Hollywood – Upper Lot

Banners line the red carpet entrance to Universal Studios Hollywood. They feature “Universal Fan Fest Nights” emblems and hang from lampposts.

There’s a variety of banner designs, each featuring a different color and pattern.

Inside the park, there are dozens of “Universal Fan Fest Nights” signs on lampposts and light towers.

The graphic features the event’s name in blue and purple lettering.

Other towers advertise the fandom-inspired offerings that will be available during the event. Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon the Miracle: Moon Palace Chapter Deluxe, a short film experience, is highlighted on a sign near the DreamWorks Theatre.

A banner directly outside the theater will display the wait time. As the banner notes, the show is only open during Fan Fest Nights.

More Fan Fest signs on light towers frame the entrance to the Lower Lot.

The studio backlot, meanwhile, will be taken over by Scooby-Doo and Universal Monsters. Mystery on the Backlot is an interactive whodunit during which guests must save a movie shoot gone wrong.

Universal Studios Hollywood ticket booths are adorned with Universal Fan Fest Nights decals. The event will take place after hours on select nights from April 23 through May 16.
Universal Studios Hollywood – Lower Lot

In the Lower Lot, Fan Fest guests will get to enter Jurassic World: A Journey Through the Eras. We watched this walkthrough get set up backstage and previews were recently held.

More banners lead guests to Transformers The Ride – 3D where the Dungeons & Dragons experience will be hosted.

Guests will rally with Harpers to save Waterdeep from Xanathar the beholder in the walkthrough DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Secrets of Waterdeep.

Like the Sailor Moon show, there is a wait time banner set up for the experience’s main entrance.
ONE PIECE Bar & Grand Pirate Show

The ONE PIECE: Grand Pirate Show will take over the WaterWorld theater while guests will be able to meet characters and purchase themed dishes at a fan zone.

Crews have started setting up the fan zone in a courtyard near Hollywood & Dine. For now, the courtyard is blocked by barriers.

In front of the courtyard is a wanted posters photo op.

There’s a ONE PIECE sign featuring Monkey D. Luffy above the courtyard entrance.

Inside the courtyard, a temporary bar has been set up. There are props like crates and barrels nearby.

A model of the Thousand Sunny ship is atop a fountain in the courtyard.

Windows are adorned with ONE PIECE decals featuring the characters.

At the WaterWorld theater, a shower curtain-style banner for the ONE PIECE show has been installed but remains pushed to one side. Team members will be able to easily pull it across the WaterWorld sign during Fan Fest Nights.
Forbidden Forest: Search for the Hippogriff

At The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, guests will get to participate in the Forbidden Forest: Search for the Hippogriff walkthrough experience.
We now know exactly where this experience will be. Crews have started preparing the extended outdoor queue of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Construction walls block guest access to the space.
We saw signs of work in the queue and surrounding woods. A tall black scrim was in one area, with cords visible on the ground in front of it. There is additional stage lighting to illuminate the woods at night.
Various items were covered by black tarps. During the Fan Fest-exclusive experience, guests will face magical creatures and cast spells using their wands. Universal teased giant spiders and magical plants, while concept art shows Cornish Pixies and twisted vines.
Universal Fan Fest Nights tickets are available now.
