Visit the lobby of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel to see a large chocolate and fondant sculpture honoring 100 years of Winnie the Pooh and National Geographic’s Secrets of the Bees.
Winnie the Pooh Confectionery Sculpture

The sculpture is based on the party scene in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977). In the center is Pooh Bear’s tree house with “Mr. Sanders” above the door. On one side of the tree, Piglet, Pooh, Tigger, and Eeyore are pictured with party hats around a honey cake.

The cake has three large fake candles creating the number 100. You’ll notice a lot of bees in this scene. There are 22 bees hidden across the sculpture — can you spot them all?

Around the other side of the tree is Rabbit’s garden below a beehive. The sculpture is approximately 7 feet tall, took 480 hours to complete, and is made of :
- 200 Pounds of Fondant
- 130 Pounds of Rice Cereal
- 90 Pounds of Marshmallows
- 60 Pounds of Chocolate

There are “hunny” pots with yellow-gold honey spilling out and colorful flowers across the hillside. In addition to bees, there are also some butterflies.

As Disney celebrates 100 years of Winnie the Pooh, the talented pastry team at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa created this “bee-utiful” confectionery and invites fans everywhere to “live the Hunny life,” and embrace the gentle wisdom and enduring charm that continues to inspire the world today.
Secrets of the Bees is featured on National Geographic as part of their annual Earth Month celebration and is now available on Disney+ and Hulu.

Secrets of the Bees, narrated by Bertie Gregory, was filmed over the course of three years with special cameras opening a window in a single bee hive.
