Young manatee Soleil, who arrived at EPCOT in February, has been released back into the wild after brief rehabilitation.
Soleil the Manatee Released

Soleil was orphaned and moved to The Seas at EPCOT for short-term care. We noticed her name was no longer on the chalkboards at EPCOT’s manatee tank and spoke to cast members, who said Soleil was relocated to Welaka, Florida.
The town is on the St. Johns River, where rehabilitated manatees are frequently released and can thrive thanks to its fresh vegetation.

Tanimura and Cider, two other orphaned manatees, remain at The Seas. Both have successfully gained weight in the past few months. Tani is now 550 lbs and Cider is 1,055 lbs. Tanimura arrived as a baby last summer about 300 lbs. Cider is a few years older and arrived in early 2025 at 750 lbs.
