Guests who enjoy Soarin’ Across America will witness all-new scenes depicting the beauty of the United States. Some of that footage includes swampland, which Disney contacted cinematographer Daniel Waghorne to capture.
Capturing the Swamp for Soarin’

According to a post on Waghorne’s Instagram, he and the team at Kennedy Remotes were contacted by Disney last year to help them scout swamp locations for a section of the Soarin’ Across America experience.

He said they spent a month traveling throughout the southern United States to look at all the swamps. But they decided to film at Lake Martin in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Of the experience, he wrote on Instagram, “It was such a great time working with absolutely amazing people. For at least the next decade, if you head to EPCOT you’ll get to see my work. That’s pretty cool.”

Kennedy Remotes also commented on the project on their Instagram page:
In late summer of 2025, we were approached to do the heavy lifter drone footage for the Epcot ride and after a month of scouting, we found the right location, here in our home state. Thanks to @daniel_waghorne @majic_sean @lifeunderthefigtree @jimiryan818 @zatzworks + Imagineer Bernice Howes for making it happen.
