Founded in 1975 by William S. Paley, who helped build CBS into a major media company, the Paley Center for Media is a cultural and educational institution in New York City. First starting out with preserving TV and radio history, the organization has since expanded to include all forms of electronic media. Through a series of events year-round, including their annual PaleyFest, the group provides space to discuss media’s influence on culture and society and highlighting emerging media.

Other trustees include Liberty Media CEO Derek Chang, Sony Group Corp. CEO Hiroki Totoki, and Spotify Co-CEO Alex Norström. In addition, Imagine Entertainment co-founder and chairman Brian Grazer has joined the Paley Los Angeles Board of Governors, as has Publicis Connected Media CEO Dave Penski.

The board of trustees will help drive the organization’s mission, strategy, fundraising, and public programs. “The Paley Center’s Board of Trustees and Los Angeles Board of Governors have long brought together some of the most influential leaders across media, business, technology, gaming, and entertainment,” said Frank A. Bennack, Jr., former Hearst CEO and chairman of the Paley Center. “The addition of these new members reflects the continued evolution of our Boards and strengthens the Paley Center’s ability to engage with the industries shaping the future of media.”

Josh D’Amaro said he was honored by the opportunity to carry the Paley Center’s legacy forward and that said that Disney has “always believed in the power of storytelling to connect people across generations, and that mission is deeply aligned with everything the Paley Center stands for.”
