Today, May 25, is Memorial Day, a day when our country honors those who died while serving in the Armed Forces. Disney World is remembering the holiday with flags at half-staff, which is customary.
Flags at Half-Staff

The flags around Walt Disney World will be flown at half mast from sunrise until noon to honor and mourn those who gave their lives for our country. Then, from noon until sunset, the flags will be raised to symbolize forging ahead because of those sacrifices.

We saw the American flag outside the Transportation and Ticket Center at half-staff, but guests will notice the flag at half-staff at the front of all four Walt Disney World theme parks and other locations.

Most recently, flags were also at half-staff on May 15 for Peace Officers Memorial Day as part of National Police Week. Patriotic decor was recently put up around Magic Kingdom for the summer holidays and the 250th anniversary.
Over at Disneyland, there are two “Fallen Hero” or “Missing Man” tables at restaurants.
