According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office in Melbourne, Florida, anyone in the Orlando area should anticipate developing storms and showers today. Because of a collision of sea breezes from the west and the east, the current chances of rain today are at 70%.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office in Melbourne, Florida, anyone in the Orlando area should anticipate developing storms and showers today. Because of a collision of sea breezes from the west and the east, the current chances of rain today are at 70%.

The NWS indicates that these showers or storms could produce “lightning, gusty winds, and heavy downpours.” They anticipate rainfall of between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, with higher totals possible.

The stormy weather will likely continue into the evening, with the majority hitting before 9 p.m. The chances of precipitation at night drop to 60%. Rain and thunderstorms are also anticipated throughout the rest of the week into the weekend.
