We were “all over it” when we saw this new Lizzie McGuire Loungefly backpack—now available at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom.
Lizzie McGuire Loungefly Backpack – $80
The backpack is a blue denim material with circular images of cartoon Lizzie in different poses all over the front, top, and sides of the bag.
Some of those poses include her propped up on her elbows, her hand on her hip, and her arms over her head. The circles are purple, blue, green, orange, and pink.
The front pocket has a Lizzie McGuire charm on the zipper.
Attached to the side is a coin purse shaped like a “vintage” cell phone (yikes, we feel old). Her name is printed on the top of the screen.
At the top of the backpack is the Loungefly label in purple. The back, handles, straps, and zippers are all pink. There are two side pockets.
The interior lining is pink with flowers and “Lizzie McGuire” text in an all-over pattern.
The show was set to receive a reboot back in 2020, but unfortunately, it never happened. The original description read that “the new Lizzie McGuire story picks up as the titular character is just about to turn 30. She seemingly has it all—her dream job as an assistant to a fancy New York City decorator, her dream guy, and a picturesque Brooklyn apartment—but things aren’t always as they seem. With a little help from her friends, her loving family, and her 13-year-old alter-ego in animated form, Lizzie navigates the ups and downs of adulthood.”
I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work, but sadly & despite everyone’s best efforts, it isn’t going to happen. I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It’s what the character deserves. We can all take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her. I’m very sad, but I promise everyone tried their best and the stars just didn’t align.
