Thomas “Tom” Kane, known for his voice roles at Disney Parks and in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, passed away at age 64.

Kane was a prolific voice actor. Some of his earliest voice roles included a variety of characters in the 1990s Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Spider-Man: The Animated Series.

His Star Wars connection began when he voiced Leebo in the 1996 video game Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. He went on to voice several different characters in Star Wars games, animated shows, and movies.

Most notably, he was the narrator and Yoda in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, LEGO Star Wars specials, Robot Chicken specials, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch. He voiced Admiral Ackbar in some animated projects, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at Disney Parks.

He provided additional voices for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rogue One, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Other Star Wars characters Kane sometimes voiced included C-3PO, Boba Fett, Chancellor Valorum, Battle Droids, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Admiral Yularen. His final job was as Yoda, Qui-Gonn, and Ackbar for the 2022 video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

He also lent his voice to Disney’s Kim Possible series as Monkey Fist. He voiced Indiana Jones in LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures. He was various characters, including Ultron, in the 2010 series The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Outside of Disney, he was Professor Utonium, HIM, and several others in The Powerpuff Girls; Darwin in The Wild Thornberrys; additional voices in Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends; and Woodhouse in the latter half of Archer. He was the announcer of multiple Academy Awards shows.

For Disney Parks, he is the narrator of the “Happily Ever After” nighttime spectacular (below) at Magic Kingdom and the announcer of the Walt Disney World Monorail.

His voice was also heard on Disney’s FastPlay DVD and Blu-ray pop-up menu, at Star Wars Weekends, and in the Onward trailer.

He retired from voice acting following a stroke in 2020.
