Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland continues to shift away from its sequel-era setting and into the era of the Galactic Civil War.
Black Spire Surplus Transformation Continues With New Banners

New banners have been installed at Black Spire Surplus, the renamed version of the former First Order Cargo shop.
The latest additions include signage both outside and inside the location, reinforcing the shop’s new backstory as a salvage-style military supply outpost rather than a First Order recruitment depot.

One of the new banners can be seen hanging along the right edge of the shop’s wide cargo bay entrance. The well-worn-looking banner features the Imperial crest prominently placed against a double black stripe on a gray background, with the shop’s name “Black Spire Surplus” superimposed in red along the bottom of the Empire’s insignia.

On the opposite side of the shop, along the left edge of the entrance, a darker-colored banner of similar length features an early iteration of the Starbird, or the Rebel Alliance crest. This particular design originates from a starbird variant seen in Rogue One, featured on the helmet of Blue Squadron pilot Farns Monsbee. Yellow text is printed in Aurebesh across the bottom edge of the insignia, translating simply to “Black Spire Outpost”.

Inside the shop, a new deep navy banner can be seen spotted along the upper bound of the shop’s walls. This shorter penant features the Separatist hex icon, a symbol used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. While this banner falls slightly earlier than the Galactic Civil War in the area’s timeline shift, it aligns with the shop’s aesthetic as a salvage vendor, consistent with other Clone Wars-era decor and products.
The shop is now meant to offer artifacts and supplies tied to conflicts throughout the galaxy, including both Imperial and Rebel items from the Galactic Civil War. In the updated in-universe story, the location is operated by two retired Clone Troopers with opposing sympathies — one aligned with the Rebellion and the other with the Empire.

As seen with the banners here, Disneyland Cast Members and Imagineers have been very attentive to small details in the course of updating Galaxy’s Edge to the Galactic Civil War timeline – though we did happen to notice the digital park map via the Disneyland app still visually reads “First Order Cargo”, while the shop page has been renamed correctly.
The First Order Cargo location was renamed to Black Spire Surplus as part of the larger Galaxy’s Edge timeline changes announced earlier this year. Those updates also included new props and graphics throughout Black Spire Outpost, a refreshed timeline for Droid Depot, and changes to Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities.
This is not the only recent banner update in the land. Last month, we also noticed Batuu settlement banners elsewhere in the area, replacing the original First Order banners near the Fantasyland-side entrance.
