Construction continues to progress at Disney’s Animal Kingdom for the retheming of Dinoland, U.S.A into Tropical Americas.
Tropical Americas Construction Progress – May 19, 2026

During our May 19 visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we could see from the walkway a tower crane transporting materials within the construction zone.

Meanwhile, construction continues to progress on the Encanto ride building, with a mix of cinder block and steel walls visible behind the green construction walls.

Another view of the area shows the tower crane and the large piles of dirt being created by excavators.

The clock tower that went vertical last month is still visible above the green construction walls and is surrounded by cinder block walls.

Moving to another angle, we could see new steel frames also going up near the clock tower. The frames will likely be part of the open-air structure near the entrance plaza.

Construction is also steady in the area near the former Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures shop, with large mounds of dirt as well as construction vehicles and materials.
