Projects Bubbles and Amazon Assigned to Former Disney’s BoardWalk Resort Locations

Two filings with the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District suggest new businesses are coming to Disney’s Boardwalk after two storefronts have sat empty for months.

Project Amazon and Project Bubbles

Both projects still have little public detail available. However, the latest filings give us a little more context.

"Project Amazon" is listed for the former Big River Grille & Brewing Works location. Big River Grille closed permanently in January 2024, and a replacement has yet to open. We did see some construction work at the location a few months ago.

Even the details of the project on the filing are vague. For the most part, what we know is that this upcoming space has an estimated square footage of just under 2,500.

Given that the space formerly housed a restaurant, it would not be overly presumptuous to think the new business will also be a restaurant.

Around the corner will be "Project Bubbles," where the Promenade Fine Art Gallery operated until October 2025.

Similar to Project Amazon, little detail is currently available regarding Project Bubbles. We do know that this space will comprise just shy of 2,300 square feet.

A replacement for Jellyrolls is also in the works, rumored to be a jazz club.
