Sources indicate that the popular piano bar Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk will still close permanently in the near future, but the timeline for that closure has shifted.
Jellyrolls Bar Closure Update
In our last rumor post on the piano bar, we shared that the venue would reportedly close on or around January 1, 2025, to make way for a new, Disney-operated jazz club.
Now, our sources state that the venue will no longer close on or around January 1. That being said, they also indicate that the venue will still be shuttered and remodeled into a new jazz club. Disney has also reportedly begun casting in earnest for the new establishment and has told those performers they would be looking at a 2026 debut. We have not heard a new timeline or date for its closure yet, but we could speculate that it is sometime in 2025.
This proposed new jazz club would be part of the larger, ongoing overhaul of the BoardWalk. Past updates over the recent years include updating the lobby of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, and the opening of BoardWalk Deli, BoardWalk Ice Cream, and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs. Big River Grille and Brewing Works closed its doors earlier this year.
Supposedly, the closure of Jellyrolls was always scheduled to occur after the opening of The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers, which finally took place this year after a delay from 2023.
The dueling piano bar is currently in its 29th year of operation. Admission is only open to guests ages 21 and up, with a cover charge required. Jellyrolls stands as one of the last original venues along the BoardWalk, as ESPN Club, Spoodles, and Seashore Sweets have all closed and been replaced.
As with any rumor, this information is purely speculative. Neither Disney nor the third-party company that operates Jellyrolls have confirmed any reports of the venue’s closure at this time.
