Pop Century Sign Refurbishment Update

Work continues on the refurbishment of the giant “POP” sign outside Classic Hall at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, with visible progress since our last update earlier this month.

During a recent visit to Disney’s Pop Century Work, we spotted a small construction crew continuing the latest refurbishment efforts along the front surface of the resort’s large “POP” sign.

The sign, located behind the lobby building facing Hippy Dippy Pool, previously showed signs of sanding and paint removal, with gaps of white and uneven shades of yellow and orange visible across the three large letters

In this latest update, we noticed what appears to be a fresh and final coat of paint applied to the first half of the first letter “P”, signalling what may be the final phase of paintwork is underway.

The white gaps that previously marked the sign in our last update appear to have been filled in with a preliminary layer of paint. We assume the crew spotted today is working from left to right along the sign to apply the final even coat of orange.

The back of the letters appears unchanged from our last update, as they look complete with a clean, glossy coat of vibrant blue.

Below is a side-by-side comparison of the sign in prior, good condition (first image) followed by the latest photo of ongoing paintwork, which should help make the visual differences more apparent.

No completion timeline has been officially announced, but given this latest look at the sign, we would not be too surprised to see work complete by the end of May, if not sooner.
