Walt Disney Imagineering shared a behind-the-scenes video of the recording process for the background music that will play throughout Animation Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

In the video, the Senior Creative Director of Music explained how background music is a powerful storytelling tool because it sets the environment. Brett says the goal is to set the mood through music through various tempos, sound effects, and even volume.

They were able to pull music from decades worth of films to create the music we will hear. Brett hopes guests have as much fun listening to the music as the team did making it.

The courtyard opens next week, on May 26. While Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! opens on that same date, The Magic of Disney Animation will open at a later date this summer.
