WDWNT has confirmed the kangaroo residents of Jumping Junction, a new walkthrough experience in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, are different from the existing kangaroos at Discovery Island.

The Discovery Island kangaroos remain at home in their habitat near the Tree of Life. We confirmed with animal keepers that these are the same kangaroos who have lived near the tree for several years.

The kangaroos at Jumping Junction are a brand-new family for the park.

The Jumping Junction kangaroos and wallabies are still adjusting to their new home. As such, the walkthrough experience is only opening for brief periods of time to small groups of guests. It replaces the Affection Section petting zoo, with the former animals being rehomed.
