When Conservation Station at Disney’s Animal Kingdom reopens, Affection Section will be renamed Jumping Junction and feature Australian animals — all part of a Bluey takeover of the area. New details from Disney indicate Jumping Junction will no longer be a petting zoo.
Jumping Junction Not a Petting Zoo

Disney says guests will get to “See kangaroos and wallabies in this new, shared habitat.” There’s no mention of petting or otherwise interacting up close. Some fun facts about these animals incude:
- Wallabies and kangaroos are both marsupials, meaning their babies (called joeys) continue to develop in their mom’s pouch after they are born.
- Kangaroos are larger while wallabies are nearly half the size.
- Both a group of kangaroos and a group of wallabies are called a mob.
While kangaroos are dangerous, attacks on humans are rare. However, this makes sense that Disney would not allow guests to touch them. Wallabies are more docile but may still scratch or bite. By the sounds of it, these will be the only animals available in Jumping Junction.
This news essentially confirms earlier rumors that the petting zoo would close. The animals that previously resided at Affection Section were rehomed.
