'Toy Story 5' Meet and Greet Debuts at Disney California Adventure

A new adventure calls for a new look! Guests can now meet Toy Story characters with their new looks from Toy Story 5 and even pose with the new character Lilypad in the process.

Toy Story 5 Character Accessories

Now meeting at Pixar Pier are Woody, Bo Peep, Jessie, and Buzz in their updated Toy Story 5 outfits. Bo looks about as she has previously for other meet and greets. However, Woody is now wearing a red, paisley bandana as a poncho.

At first glance, Buzz looks almost identical to earlier meet and greets, too. However, you may notice a shiny star sticker affixed to his Lightyear patch on the lefthand side.

Likewise, the main change for Jessie is that she is now wearing a spiffy Sheriff’s badge on her left side. This badge used to belong to Woody until he gave it to Jessie at the end of Toy Story 4.

New Photo Backdrop

Lilypad, a digital tablet character, makes her appearance for the first time in Toy Story 5. The characters were doing meet-and-greets with guests at Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure.

As you can see above, Lilypad, a digital tablet character, is sort of making an appearance for the first time at this updated meet and greet. Unlike the characters stopping by, she is a standee that you can pose with. Although she looks like she may be able to, Lilypad does not talk or otherwise engage with guests.

The background of the photo spot is blue with dark blue icons representing different characters from Toy Story 5. Near where Lilypad is, there are three full-color icons: Forky, Smarty Pants, and Hamm.

On either side of the meet and greet areas are a stack of letter blocks. The left side spells out “Toy,” and the other “Pals.” The sides of the blocks appear to have black outlines of characters from the Toy Story franchise.

Toy Story 5

The latest film in the Toy Story franchise involves Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang being challenged when “they’re introduced to what kids are obsessed with today… electronics!”

Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack return for their respective roles as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie. New characters Lilypad (Greta Lee) and Smarty Pants (Conan O’Brien) also join the cast.

Ernie Hudson is taking over as Combat Carl from the late Carl Weathers. Blake Clark is expected to return as Slinky Dog, a role he took over from Jim Varney, who passed away in 2000. We also learned that Alan Cumming voices Evil Bullseye and Bad Bunny voices Pizza with Sunglasses. Jessie’s original owner, Emily, will be making an appearance as well.

Theater novelties have already been announced, and Taylor Swift’s new song “I Knew It, I Knew You” is now available to stream.

Toy Story 5 releases in theaters on June 19, 2026. Watch the final trailer below:
