For a limited time, Genie’s lamp from the marquee of Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway is in Times Square for a limited time.
Genie’s Lamp

For a very limited time, visitors can drop by to see the Genie’s lamp on display at 47th Street and Broadway in the heart of Times Square. It will be out for public viewing until Monday, June 15.
This lamp, unveiled in March 2024 for the 10th anniversary of Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway, is 14 feet tall. It used to sit atop the marquee at the New Amsterdam Theatre, which houses Aladdin on Broadway. It was originally designed to spin and spit smoke periodically.
The lamp is a 1200-pound replica of the lamp Genie uses in the show, down to the intricate pattern carvings. It was designed by Bob Crowley and built by NPARALLEL + Atomic Props.

As part of the celebratory unveiling in Times Square, several current cast members performed “Friend Like Me” from the musical. This included Caleb A. Barnett as Genie as well as ensemble members Keisha Gilles, Mikayla Renfrow, Anju Cloud, and Adriana Negron. Bernett recently stepped into the role on May 5 after the departure of the longest-running Genie, Michael James Scott.

The lamp was previously at Walt Disney World in January 2026 for EPCOT’s International Festival of the Arts. It was just across the walkway from CommuniCore Hall and Plaza during the festival.
