Oakley Reopens at Disney Springs Following Months-Long Refurbishment

Oakley is back in business at Disney Springs, once again selling some much-needed eye protection for guests enduring the harsh Florida sun. The Oakley store at Disney Springs has reopened following a refurbishment, which began earlier this year.

The shop is located in The Landing, near Gideon’s Bakehouse, and offers Oakley sunglasses, apparel, backpacks, hats, and other performance-focused accessories. The store’s official listing on the Walt Disney World website currently reflects the reopening and lists operating hours from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Oakley temporarily closed in February 2026 for refurbishment, with the closure expected to last through April. During the work, guests were still able to shop for sunglasses from a nearby temporary setup.

The Disney Springs Oakley location took over a retail space in The Landing area that was previously occupied by another eyewear shop, APEX by Sunglass Hut.

APEX opened in 2015 and later closed in September 2017, opening the door for Oakley to occupy the space as of October 2017.

An Instagram story shared by Disney Springs yesterday, June 5, revealed the changes the Oakley shop has undergone during its multi-month-long refurbishment.

The refurbishment changes first start outside, where the entrance has been changed. The black double doors are now framed with angular metal pieces studded with rivets. A small Oakley logo is placed above the doors. The entrance previously had a much larger Oakley sign above the doors. The logo was dark gray, matching the background.

The Instagram story shared by Disney Springs also provided a glimpse of the interior changes. All the shelves are now black with white backgrounds in the slots that store glasses, providing an overall modern, minimalistic look.

Oakley itself dates back to 1975, when Jim Jannard founded the company and began selling motocross grips before the brand expanded into goggles, sunglasses, and performance eyewear. The brand has since become known for its sport-driven designs, shield-style lenses, and futuristic fashion.

This reopening comes amid a wave of retail changes around Disney Springs, including the closure of the nearby food truck vendors.
