Orlando Airport Warns of Airline Operation Delays Due to Severe Weather, Some Departures Grounded

With severe weather conditions in the area, Orlando International Airport (MCO) is warning travelers that airline operations may be affected.

The airport explains via a post on X that flight and baggage delivery delays may occur due to the severe weather conditions currently impacting the area. Travelers are advised to check directly with their airline for updates regarding operations. Flight status updates can be found here.

As of 1:42 p.m. ET, some departures to Orlando International are grounded due to thunderstorms. At the time of writing, the halt is expected to last until 2:15 p.m. The probability of an extension is medium.

The last few days have been rough for Central Florida, as the area has been under a heat advisory and severe weather risk since Thursday, June 18. During all this, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is also experiencing a widespread air conditioning outage, affecting resort operations.
