Permanently Closed Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost Now Being Used for Caricatures at Hollywood Studios

The permanently closed Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost is now being used for caricatures at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Caricatures at Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost

The store, which offered a variety of merchandise and apparel, closed for good in March 2020. It briefly opened in 2023 as a limited-time beverage outpost called The Den of Destiny.

It’s located off Echo Lake, near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. And now, it’s being used as a caricature station. Cast Members were stationed in the space with tables and chairs. There is also a pricing menu.

Nearby, work continues at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular exit. Since rolling planters surrounded this space earlier this year, they ripped up pavement but no other construction progress has been made.

The merchandise kiosk never reopened following the 2020 COVID-19 shutdown. The kiosk’s prop truck was removed in 2021. The area has since been used as a home for outdoor vending carts and special meet and greets.

Disney hasn’t announced anything new coming to this area, which is a relatively small space outside Backlot Express. But it’s possible a new merchandise kiosk could be constructed.

As for Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, the show has been performing without its famous boulder since December after a cast member was injured stopping the boulder when it bounced off its track.
