The okapi habitat, located along the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, now has new props located outside for guests to look at.

Okapi Habitat Props

The props make the outside of the habitat look like a safari or research site. There is a hiking backpack hung on an information board outlining the differences between okapi and giraffes. These endangered animals are closely related to the giraffe but are much different. They are sometimes referred to as “forest giraffe.”

The table has gear and animal photos on it, including a wood carving of an okapi and its calf, a magnifying glass, and a red lantern.

We also spotted an okapi during our visit this morning, June 30.

The last baby okapi born at Animal Kingdom was Beni in July 2022.
