Signs Begin Alerting Guests to Permanent Resort Access Changes at Disney Springs

Disney Springs has installed warning signs near all the resort bus location signs indicating the upcoming change to resort transportation service. We also saw the signs near the Sassagoula River Cruise boat dock.

Warning Signs

The signs indicate that the forthcoming resort verification process to utilize Disney Springs buses will begin on June 28, 2026. These signs read:

Beginning June 28, 2026, Walt Disney World Transportation service from Disney Springs to Disney Resort hotels is for Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or visiting one with a valid dining or experience reservation.

These signs arrived just days after we confirmed that Disney World is cracking down on non-resort guest use of the Disney Springs buses.

The signs are also located near the docks for the Sassagoula River Cruise.

The signs are also located near the docks for the Sassagoula River Cruise boats as well. Non-resort guests will also not be allowed to use this transportation from Disney Springs anymore, either.

Following preliminary tests around the New Year and a more robust trial run during the busy Easter season, the verification process was expected to return. During the recent trial windows, Cast Members were stationed at the Disney Springs bus loop scanning MagicBands and tickets.

The process was deemed highly successful at freeing up bus capacity for actual resort guests. More importantly, it directly targets a long-standing practice where day-guests park for free at Disney Springs and use resort transportation to bypass the theme park parking fees.

Moving forward, guests will need to scan and prove eligibility before boarding a resort-bound bus. To clear the verification checkpoint at Disney Springs, you will need to hold one of the following:

  • A confirmed resort recreation activity booking (such as a boat cruise)
  • An active Walt Disney World resort hotel reservation
  • A confirmed dining reservation at a Disney resort hotel

Currently, these verification checks will be restricted entirely to Disney Springs. However, Disney is reportedly evaluating whether it is feasible to expand this scanning process to other transportation hubs and alternative transit methods across the property in the future.
