On the southwest corner of the water park, a group of cabanas is being added. This small area has been under construction since December, when the patch of land was fenced in just behind the lazy river.

Concrete footers were poured at the beginning of March, and the progress can be seen in the above images. In the most recent photos, the full structures of the cabanas can now be seen.

Each structure contains an upper and lower-level cabana unit. The dual-level cabanas can now clearly be seen above. At first glance, what appears to be four separate structures is actually two, with four cabanas each, two upper and two lower, for a total of eight. The thatched roof installation is currently in progress, and interior finishing is also underway as this project nears completion.

Volcano Bay is Universal Orlando Resort’s tropical-themed water park that centers around a towering 200-foot artificial volcano named Krakatau.
