Disney has begun its refurbishment of a World Celebration waterway by draining the water. River rocks have been removed and piled together in certain areas.

The affected area is the body of water between the Imagination Pavilion and the Land Pavilion closest to CommuniCore Plaza.

Water has been drained from the area, and crews have moved some of the river rock that lines the bottom into piles throughout the area. This leaves concrete exposed to guest view.

We also noticed some scaffolding with stairs, making it easier for crews to access the area. Behind the stairs, Disney has installed rolling planters, which are likely in place to keep guests from climbing down into the area.

Pictured above and below are what the reflecting pools usually looks like at EPCOT.

Nearby bodies of water remain filled. However, the one near the Imagination Pavilion and Journey Into Imagination attraction has some really green water.

Coins from Cinderella’s Wishing Well at Magic Kingdom and other fountains and waterways throughout Walt Disney World—including this one—are collected periodically and donated to Make-A-Wish and Give Kids The World Village.

Guests love to toss coins into the water and make wishes, as seen above. These coins will likely be removed.

Back in 2022, Disney donated $30,000! Disney will likely have another large dollar amount to give soon now that this reflecting pool has been drained.
