We visited a few different vantage points around Disney California Adventure this past week to get a look at Avengers Campus construction. The land will nearly double in size with the opening of two new rides, Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab, plus a new bathroom facility.

Avengers Campus Construction

From Pixar Pal-A-Round, we got an aerial view of the construction site. The large structure in the center behind Cars Land is the expansion. You can see the entrance canopy beneath a tall crane.

Several construction vehicles are beneath the canopy at the future site of Stark Flight Lab. The ride will see guests seated in “gyro-kinetic pods controlled by a robotic arm inspired by DUM-E from the Iron Man films. Robert Downey, Jr. returns as Tony Stark for the attraction.

Atop the building’s rooftop, we saw crew members underneath a tent. While they may have been taking a break at the moment, they are likely working on various roof elements. A series of white beams matching the entrance canopy are atop the roof on the left. On the right are steel frames likely for future themed elements.

Avengers Infinity Defense is expected to use the same system as Peter Pan’s Never Land Adventure in Tokyo DisneySea. While the show building is now mostly enclosed, it doesn’t have its final exterior paneling yet. Black scrims hang around much of the top half of the building.

We got a look at the other side of the building from the SpringHill Suites area. This side is also wrapped in black scrims, but we can see what might be some thematic shapes behind the fabric.

Back at Pixar Pal-A-Round, take a look at the concrete building on the left, in front of Avengers Headquarters. This is believed to be a new bathroom facility on the walkway between Avengers Campus and Cars Land. Because it will serve both lands, it features some Cars Land theming.

Back on the ground inside Avengers Campus, crew members are working on the left side of the expansion’s entrance canopy, where the Avengers Infinity Defense sign will eventually go. Guests will reach both new rides next to the Avengers Headquarters building.
