Aerial photos of Magic Kingdom by @bioreconstruct on X continue to show the scope of the construction work and earth being moved and graded for Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains Land at Magic Kingdom.

Piston Peak National Park Construction

Crews continue to move and grade sand in the spaces between and around the retaining wall, which runs a significant portion of the perimeter around Piston Peak.

Near the center of the Piston Peak construction site, the sections of drainage pipe being installed on June 22 are completely buried as more earth is being moved, piled, and smoothed by the crew.

Sand is also being excavated from the berm next to the Haunted Mansion and being used to grade the site. To the right in the above photo is the queue of the Haunted Mansion. The middle is the facade of the Haunted Mansion, which has been covered by scaffolding and scrim since January. The white building at the top is the Haunted Mansion show building.

Piston Peak National Park will include an off-road rally race ride and a family-friendly attraction. It features the new original car character Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, inspired by the classic Disney cartoon character Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore.

The image above is an aerial photo of a water management project in development west of Magic Kingdom. The excavation provided sand for Villains Land and Piston Peak National Park, not pictured to the left of the image. Part of the Grand Floridian Resort can be seen in the upper left. The new traffic circle can also be seen as part of the Floridian Way rerouting project.

A close-up view of the water management project shows construction of a tunnel connecting the two new lakes. The tunnel is much wider than the existing road, allowing space for the road to be widened in the future.

In an overview of the construction site, Piston Peak National Park is on the right, with Haunted Mansion above, and Big Thunder Mountain and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure below. The retaining wall can be seen along with the scale of the sand grading. Piston Peak National Park is not a new land; it is an expansion of Frontierland.

However, in addition to Piston Peak National Park, Magic Kingdom will gain a new Disney Villains Land beyond Frontierland, which is the area to the left of Big Thunder Mountain. Dirt continues to be moved and graded in this area along with the continued staging of equipment and materials. This entire project is the largest ever expansion to Magic Kingdom.
