The Downtown Disney District transformation continues with ongoing construction of two new restaurants, impending removal of the pop-up Earl of Sandwich, and work at the north entrance.
Arthur & Sons / Pearl’s Roadside BBQ

The construction site for Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon, and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ has steel elements apparently outlining the buildings and rooms. The new restaurants replace Tortilla Jo’s, which permanently closed in March 2024. The concrete block structure remains from Tortilla Jo’s.

On the right are large excavated areas in he ground, with orange poles and caution tape surrounding them. We saw and heard crew members working in this area. The two tent structures help keep them shaded.
Arthur & Sons and Pearl’s are scheduled to open this year.
Earl of Sandwich Trailer

Fences covered in green scrims are up around the Earl of Sandwich trailer. This pop-up location closed last month when the new permanent Earl of Sandwich opened. The trailer will likely be removed soon.
North Downtown Disney Entrance

A large area near the north entrance of Downtown Disney District is blocked by construction walls, fencing, and scrims. This seems to be connected to a permit for installation of a new security fence and gates, as well as removing existing fencing. The permit is still under review.

The security checkpoint at this entrance currently consists of temporary trusses and tents.
