The top of the building that will house the Encanto ride has reached another milestone. Steel structures have been added to the top of the building for what will be mountainous-style rockwork.
Encanto Milestone

Crews have begun installing steel structures that will become the future rockwork during our visit today, July 15. So far, we see a sizable portion (about half of one side) of the structures on top of the building.

Mesh netting of various sizes has been installed as the base for the shapes of the natural-looking rockwork to come.

Pictured above is what the mountains look like in the model art (top left corner).

Compared to the concept art, this rockwork will be largely background theming and not a focal point.

Meanwhile, the steel tower and peaked roof framework now has some wood additions filling in the gaps of the steel. This will be the main entrance from Discovery Island.
Tropical Americas is set to open in 2027 and will consist of the fictional village of Pueblo Esperanza, featuring a new carousel, an “Encanto” ride and DINOSAUR is being reimagined to an Indiana Jones ride. There will also be a new playground added to the land.
