Tomorrowland Meet and Greet Updated

The former Buzz Lightyear meet and greet at Magic Kingdom has been updated with a more generic Tomorrowland backdrop. Buzz has not met regularly in the space for a while, but Stitch and Chip 'n' Dale sometimes meet in the area.

The window-like background shows painted planets and stars. The surrounding frame has been painted shades of blue and the faux button decals were removed. The LED sign above still says “Space Ranger Map.”

Below is what the space looked like when Buzz met there, featuring a Buzz-inspired color scheme.

The metallic columns on the side also got new blue trim and battery-inspired theming was removed from the flooring.

The meet and greet is located under the PeopleMover track next to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, which was recently reimagined. There is a second meet and greet spot here with a basic garage door background, as seen below. It has not changed.

Stitch has met in front of the garage door in the past but may start meeting more regularly in front of the updated background. He and Chip ‘n’ Dale usually roam Tomorrowland when crowds aren’t as bad.

The background’s change comes alongside other cosmetic changes to Tomorrowland, including a streamlining of Space Ranger Spin’s exterior and the removal of 1994 towers.

Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress recently closed for a major reimagining and there are rumors Space Mountain could be next.
