Land has been cleared at the STOLport site near Magic Kingdom for the construction of Walt Disney Imagineering buildings to support work on the park’s new Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains land.
In August 2025, the South Florida Water Management District approved a permit for a 12.5-acre expansion to the STOLport site near Magic Kingdom, which will include the addition of two new Walt Disney Imagineering office buildings.
STOLport Construction Permit
Dubbed “Project K,” the permit covers 12.51 acres at STOLport, the former Walt Disney World Airport site off World Drive.

The permit covers the construction of two new buildings, as well as supportive infrastructure such as sidewalks, parking, and utilities. Two existing retention ponds will also be altered.

The land has now been largely cleared, and concrete drainage pipes and culverts have been staged to be buried soon. A row of structures on the north end of the site have been completely demolished.

In this image from Google Maps, taken prior to the land being cleared, the structures demolished can be seen inside the red box. The large parking lot to their south has been completely cleared.
The new office buildings will presumably support work on the major Magic Kingdom expansion, including Piston Peak National Park and Villains Land. The STOLport site has frequently housed temporary Imagineering office trailers, but these will be more permanent structures.
Piston Peak National Park and Disney Villains Land

Piston Peak National Park is not a new land but an expansion to Frontierland. It replaces Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America, which closed permanently. Piston Peak will take inspiration from National Parks, specifically the Rocky Mountains. It will include a river and other water features, as well as barrel bridges in homage to Tom Sawyer Island.
The area’s new original car character, Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore, pays tribute to the classic Disney cartoon character Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore, who was mostly featured in shorts alongside Humphrey the Bear.
It will include two attractions. One is an off-road rally race ride featuring ride vehicles with different personalities. The other is a family attraction, but details have not been announced.

Villains Land will go behind Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Disney has not shared many details of the area. Concept art includes Maleficent’s castle and her dragon form. The land will include two attractions, dining, and shopping. A list of villains inspiring the land includes Maleficent and her dragon form, The Queen of Hearts, Jafar, the Evil Queen (and her Old Hag form), Lady Tremaine, Yzma, Cruella, Captain Hook, Gaston, Mother Gothel, Ursula, Hades, and Chernabog.
