Level99 selected 23 visual artists from across the world, including seven from Florida, to feature their works throughout the new Disney Springs venue.
Level99 Art
Level99 is a sensory playground featuring life-sized mini-games. Art is a key element of the unique environment, with murals, sculptures, animations, and more featured on walls, through hallways, and ceilings.
Each location features original artwork installed by the artists themselves with Easter eggs, awe-inspiring moments, and humorous surprises. The Disney Springs location has more than 40 pieces of original artwork, including the largest installations at any Level99 location to date.
The art is also part of an interactive art scavenger hunt called “Hunt Art.” Players can look for specific objects within the art, referred to as glyphs, and then earn stars at Hunt Art kiosks to climb the Level99 leaderboard.
Regionally based artists are among those selected for each Level99 location. The Disney Springs location features seven total Floridian artists, including two from Central Florida: Naomi Haverland from Orlando and Juan Travieso from Lakeland.
Naomi Haverland delivers a feeling of wonder and delight in her work that features bright colors and eclectic subjects. The skillfully rendered realism of zany, unconventional subjects highlights the crossroads of skill and fun. Her work evokes the energy of “Work Hard, Play Harder.”
Level99 sought out Juan Travieso for his bright palettes, colliding textures, and unique balances of the organic and inorganic. His pieces speak to the clashing of worlds in the game arena, as geometric patterns meet natural curvatures. Every look at his piece brings new details to the forefront. Keep looking, and you never know what you might find next.
