Recent construction updates to Monstropolis in Disney’s Hollywood Studios include thematic molding added to the restroom building and brickwork on the Glob (former MuppetVision 3D theater).
The Glob Theater

The beige scrim hanging in front of the theater’s clock tower was rolled up during our recent visit. For the first time in weeks, we could see the clock and the fresh brickwork surrounding it. When we could last see the clock tower, new drywall and a layer of concrete had been installed where old brickwork was torn away.

Judging by concept art, the brickwork will be repainted brown. The brickwork was redone to prepare for decorations to be added around the clock.
Monstropolis Bathrooms

Beige scrim was also rolled up around the land’s restroom building. Formerly themed to Gonzo’s Royal Flush, the exterior was mostly stripped, and new molding has been installed. There are arched elements on the front.

On the side are new arched window shapes with support elements between them. There’s a steel element on the corner of the building, too.
Entrance Columns
There have been changes to the new columns at the land’s future entrance. After the former walls and columns were removed, four new concrete columns were constructed. Strangely, one of the columns has been knocked down, and one has been shortened. Compare to our photo below.
Since our June update, the innermost column on the left was removed and the innermost column on the right was made shorter. It’s now shorter than the far right column.

When it comes to why one column was removed, our best guess is that Disney made a design change or there was an error in the column placement.

A cable is looped across the top of the shortened column to a construction vehicle nearby. It could be further shortened or knocked down, too.
Monsters, Inc. Roller Coaster

Track installation began for the Monsters, Inc. door roller coaster in late June. The track that has been installed so far is hidden behind the steel framework. Those wide concrete columns appear to be elevator shafts.
