The happy snowman has finally gotten his chance to do whatever snow does in summer with guests at Disney Castaway Cay.
Olaf Summertime Style Debuts
After more than ten years of serving drinks in a plain-styled Olaf souvenir sipper, Disney Cruise Line has replaced the cup with a new design befitting Castaway Cay’s tropical setting.
Instagram user pixie_dust_destinations shared a first look at the new sipper. This version depicts Olaf seated on a rounded base designed to resemble a beach with bright turquoise water. The snowman looks happy as can be while sporting black sunglasses, a beach ball, a purple lei, and a tropical orange drink.
The new design is considerably more elaborate and location-appropriate than the previous Olaf sipper that first debuted at Disneyland and Walt Disney World all the way back in 2015. It was subsequently offered at Olaf’s Summertime Freeze on Castaway Cay, which opened slightly later during summer 2015.
Olaf’s Summertime Freeze is a walk-up beverage stand located near the Pelican Point tram stop and Castaway Cay’s family beach. The location specializes in nonalcoholic frozen drinks inspired by characters and elements from Frozen. Disney also continues to offer a Sven souvenir sipper at the stand.
Disney has not announced whether the new tropical Olaf sipper will be offered aboard its ships, at Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point or inside the domestic theme parks. It appears that the previous Olaf sipper has been retired completely, so it’s likely this design may stay available at Castaway Cay for the foreseeable future.
