Frontierland in Magic Kingdom has debuted three new menu items at Golden Oak Outpost and Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe. We visited both venues to try the Hot Honey Chicken Strips, Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, and Churro Loops.
Golden Oak Outpost
Hot Honey Chicken Strips – $12.99
Hot honey chicken strips with Marshmallow and Candied Pecan-topped Sweet Potato Waffle Fries
The chicken is lackluster but the texture is nice and crispy. They’re cooked like typical Disney chicken strips.
There’s enough honey to make the chicken sticky without being overly powerful. The sweet potato fries are like a soufflé in fry form. And they aren’t soggy, even under all the marshmallow.
We would eat it again. It’s a solid savory and sweet dish on this side of this park if not life-changing.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger – $14.79
Angus Beef, American Cheese, House-made Bacon Jam, and Barbecue Sauce with French Fries
The burger has an interesting meatloaf-like flavor. It’s smoky but wasn’t smoked. The sauce is a sweet accompaniment to the savory punch of the bacon.
The fries are standard. It’s a fine dish but not worth running to Pecos Bill for.

Churro Loops – $7.49
Tossed in Cinnamon Sugar with House-made Chocolate Ganache
These are better than the typical Walt Disney World churro, but still not as good as Disneyland. They aren’t airy enough in the center and there’s too much cinnamon sugar. Not the worst but not great.
