Guests staying at Disney’s Old Key West Resort soon may have interrupted boat service to Disney Springs.
Sassagoula River Cruise Service Interrupted

We received a message today from Disney about our upcoming August reservation at Disney’s Old Key West Resort, noting the following about the Sassagoula River Cruise:
As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the guest experience, refurbishment work will be taking place along the Sassagoula River Cruise boat route during your stay. During this time, boat service may be temporarily unavailable.
If service is interrupted, complimentary bus transportation will be available to and from Disney Springs.
The Sassagoula River, which runs by Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts (Riverside and French Quarter), Disney’s Old Key West Resort, and Disney Springs, had boundary wall work beginning back in March. At the time, there wasn’t an official announcement about service interruptions due to the construction.
We also recently noticed refurbishment occurring at Disney Springs’ West Side Sassagoula boat dock, including the roof being replaced, though the dock hasn’t reopened since it closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a reminder, Disney Springs is no longer allowing boat and bus access for non-resort guests.
Will the potential interruption at Old Key West Resort affect your upcoming visit? Let us know on social media.
