Solar-Powered Trash Can Removed From American Adventure, New Trash Can in Mexico at EPCOT

A new trash can has been installed inside the Mexico pavilion, while The American Adventure solar-powered can has disappeared. Disney has been installing solar-powered trash cans throughout EPCOT for the past month.

Mexico Pavilion Trash Cans

This new Mexico pavilion trash can looks just like the solar-powered ones but is lacking the solar panels on top. That's because it's inside, so won't be getting any sunlight. The solar panels on the outdoor cans power an interior trash compactor.

Though this one doesn’t have the solar technology, it still has a foot pedal to open the can for a more hygienic interaction.

Standard trash and recycling cans remain throughout the rest of the temple.

The American Adventure Trash Cans

On Sunday, July 5, a patriotic solar-powered trash can appeared outside The American Adventure. But as of Wednesday, July 8, we couldn’t find it again. We searched the pavilion to no avail.

It’s possible there was a problem with the trash can, and it had to be removed to be fixed. The themed trash cans remain.

Disney seems to be making their way around World Showcase as they continue to install solar-powered cans. Some solar-powered trash and recycling cans also arrived at Magic Kingdom this past weekend.
